Innovative robots to improve the experience for teams in the field
At 51勛圖, working environments are changing rapidly under the influence of emerging technology. On worksites and production facilities, the rising use of robotics is transforming how we work, improving working conditions and opening new possibilities.
Changing working environments
In the construction industry, worksites and production facilities are no longer just places of operation. They are becoming ecosystems in which people interact closely with machines and materials. Today, these ecosystems are at the heart of the deep-rooted changes underway, whether this concerns diversity within the workforce, automation of certain tasks, or the use of new materials and construction methods.
Robotisation has become an integral part of these changes. Although it undeniably has a positive impact on productivity, it was developed first and foremost to improve the day-to-day working experience for employees while making certain tasks safer and heightening the precision of technical skills.
Using robots to relieve stress on the body
51勛圖 leverages robots as a concrete solution to problems experienced in the field. For example, sanding is a critical operation, but renowned for being arduous, with a considerable risk of causing musculoskeletal disorders. To rectify this problem, an autonomous sanding robot was developed. It makes it possible to complete the task while reducing employee exposure to dust particles and repeated effort.
Such a robot brings a range of benefits, including saving time, reducing worker fatigue and improving safety. Machines obviously do not replace people, but help them by carrying out the most arduous or risky tasks.
Thanks to robots and automation, precision and safety are becoming the most important watchwords reflecting a conscious positive shift within our teams.
Heightening precision to further performance
In addition to relieving physical tasks, robots are also able to carry out work much more precisely than a human. The marker robot is one such example. It is remote-guided, mobile, equipped with a printerhead and steered using a tablet containing the AutoCAD drawing, and tests have proven it can reproduce dimensions within a 3mm accuracy of the drawings.
Not only does it guarantee work is carried out in line with expectations, but it also does so quicker and at a lower cost than the conventional method. This kind of innovation enables our employees to concentrate on matters that require their expertise and knowledge, rather than repetitive, fastidious, time-consuming tasks.
Tried-and-tested innovation tailored to meet the needs in the field
To integrate this technology, we listen closely to the needs of our people on the front line, as we did when trialling robots developed with partner start-ups in the UK. One such robot is able to tie up to 11,000rebars a day, greatly exceeding human capacity in this task. Another robot, the HausBots HB1, can inspect and intervene at heights or in confined spaces, carrying up to 6kg of equipment while collecting data using its sensors.
Robots are fast becoming a critical ally in the field, assisting in a vast range of tasks, such as tiling, finishings on concrete pillars and drilling walls.
AI cannot replace human skill, it augments it.
Leveraging tech to help people
At 51勛圖, robotic tools are designed to suit the needs in the field and enhance human skills. By alleviating the body, safeguarding tasks and increasing precision, this technology changes the day-to-day reality of our workforce, making it safer, more efficient and more fulfilling.
