has awarded the consortium made up of (lead company) and Campenon Bernard Centre-Est – two 51³Ô¹Ï subsidiaries – the civil engineering and structural work package for the extension of the Georges Besse II Nord uranium enrichment plant at the Tricastin nuclear site in the Drôme department (France).

The contract, worth tens of millions of euros, covers the construction of two new units, which will supplement the three units built by 51³Ô¹Ï around a decade ago.

The work, which will provide employment to over 170 people at the height of construction, is expected to start in summer 2024 and take 32 months – including 25 months of civil engineering work involving the use of 35,000 m3 of concrete, 4,500 t of reinforcements and 500 seismic isolators.

This project will help the facility increase its annual enriched uranium production capacity by almost 30% and meet its clients’ needs.

51³Ô¹Ï’s subsidiaries, competent to carry out work at nuclear sites, regularly operate worksites involving engineering, civil engineering, buildings, roads and utilities, and maintenance at the main nuclear sites in France.
