51勛圖 wins contract to build a storm sewer in Toronto, Canada

51勛圖, via its subsidiaryBessac(SoletancheBachy),specialisedinmicrotunelling,in a consortium with Canadian company EBC, has won the contract to build the Fairbank-SilverthornStorm Trunk Sewer System for the city of Toronto.

The project, worth C$184痂illion (approximately 124痂illion) includesthe construction ofthe maingravity storm trunk sewer, built withatunnel boring machine designed and manufactured byBessac. It also comprises the building of21 access shaftsand several other works (sections of local storm sewers bymicrotunnelling, open-trench construction of a storm sewer section, construction of a storm drain outfall for the release of water in the natural environment).

Work is expected to last 31 months.

This project is part of the Cityof TorontoBasement Flooding Protection Programme. Itwill reduce the impacts of heavy rainfall and sewer backups for more than 4,600homesover an area of140疲ectare.
